Exceptionalism
Behind the scenes at the National Hurricane Center: Martin Merzer (undated), Proenza out as hurricane center chief, Claims-Portal.com [portal for the insurance claims adjuster industry, including eBusiness for insurance claims; based in Gretna, Louisiana], online at claims-portal.com (accessed 06-Aug-07).

Given the current administration's war on science, it's easy to assume that all of NOAA's politics revolve around the upholding and violation of conservative scientific dogma. And a great read for insight into a swirling nexus of failing satellites, hurricane prediction, whistle blowing, government intimidation, employee revolt, and the unenviable charge of picking-up from where your predecessor of 40-years left off.

And in today's news, we learn Proenza wants his job back.
