Wiretapping suspected terrorists

Kenneth Brian (Ken) Mehlman, chairman of the Republican National Committee (2005-2007) In the spotlight for surrendering the rule-of-law: Martiga Lohn (05-Aug-06), RNC chief faults Democratic leaders on terrorism, washingtonpost.com, online (accessed 19-Jan-07).

The chairman of the Republican National Committee accusses Democrats of opossing the wiretapping of suspected terrorists:

"As foreign jihadists call into the United States, do we use [NSA] technology to stop sleeper cells before they hit us? Or do we surrender use of this technology, as Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean would have us do?" – Ken Mehlman, 4-Aug-06

Contrary to Mehlman's and other Republican's rhetoric, the issue regarding NSA warrentless surveillance revolves around the requirements for the authorization of domestic wiretapping ... The terrorists win when we surrender the rule-of-law, which Republicans seem eager to do.
